Playing DaysAfter attending Radford University as a top line starter, I signed with Fortitudo in 2000 after pitching in a tournament in which I gave a No Hit effort in 7 innings with 17 K’s and 3 walks. I was converted into a closer during my first season as the team had a veteran starting pitching staff and from there never looked back. I loved the adrenaline rush. I played 13 years of professional baseball from 2001-2013 for Team Fortitudo, and only them. In my time pitching for Fortitudo, we won 3 Italian championships and 3 European championships. As a team, we had the honor of being the first European team to be invited to the Asia Series in Taiwan in 2013. Throughout my career, I was honored by being voted to the All-Star team 3 times and voted as top reliever of the entire league 3 times. I am currently the all time saves leader for my former team, falling 3 saves short of the all time Italian saves leader in Italian baseball history.
I also had the honor to wear the "Team Italy" uniform. Representing Italy, I competed in numerous major tournaments including the 2001 International World Cup of Baseball in Taipei, the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece, and the 2006 Inaugural World Baseball Classic. Since retiring and moving to Chicago in 2013, I have been coaching and giving private lessons in the Chicago-land. I had the pleasure of coaching 2 years with the Glenview Blaze travel program and another 2 years with the Diamond Dawgz travel program. I am currently coaching for the Stoppers Baseball Academy. I also help consult several teams with team practices and game situations.
